I can’t believe I’m doing this, but…

Yeah.

I don’t watch Dancing with the Stars. I will never watch Dancing with the Stars. However, my good friend Eddie Bauer watches the show and says that it’s his guilty pleasure. His favorites are Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke. So vote for them. If you watch the show. I don’t know.

Party Down ratings climb 129%!

Look at all those viewers!

Good news for fans of the smart Starz comedy – Party Down‘s ratings climbed 129% from its first episode this season to the second.

The bad news? Only 289,000 people watched the show. To compare, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Starz’s #1 watched show, ended with a series high of around 1.3 million viewers.

Woop.

Justified renewed for a second season!

So badass.

Raylan’s coming back, bitches. Review of second episode is coming later tonight.

NBC picks up J.J. Abrams’ Undercovers – First Scripted Program for NBC this Fall

He'll be on your TV this fall.

In a completely unsurprising move, NBC has picked up J.J. Abrams’ (LOST, Fringe, What About Brian, Alias, Felicity) Undercovers as a series.

“We have tremendous confidence in this promising series and feel this is a great way to kick off our upcoming Upfront development announcements. J.J. has delivered another signature series along with our partners at Warner Bros and we couldn’t be happier.” says Jeff Gaspin, Chairman, NBC Universal Television Entertainment.

Due to it being J.J. Abrams, the pilot was most likely going to get picked up no matter what, but it screened extremely well with test audiences making the decision a no-brainer. Here’s the official description from NBC:

Outwardly, Steven Bloom (Boris Kodjoe, “Resident Evil: Afterlife”) and his wife, Samantha (Gugu Mbatha-Raw, “Bonekickers”), are a typical married couple who own a small catering company in Los Angeles and are helped by Samantha’s easily frazzled younger sister, Lizzy (Jessica Parker Kennedy, “Smallville”).  Secretly, the duo were two of the CIA’s best spies until they fell in love on the job five years ago and retired.  When fellow spy and friend Nash (Carter MacIntyre, “American Heiress”) goes missing while on the trail of a Russian arms dealer, the Blooms are reinstated by boss Carlton Shaw (Gerald McRaney, “Deadwood”) to locate and rescue Nash.  The pair is thrust back into the world of espionage as they follow leads that span the globe — and Steven and Samantha realize that this supercharged, undercover lifestyle provides the excitement and romance that their marriage has been missing.  Also starring is Ben Schwartz (NBC’s “Parks and Recreation”).

I’ve updated the pilot guide to go along with this news.

SyFy sets premiere date for The Phantom mini-series

Bad-Ass?

SyFy has set a date for its mini-series The Phantom. All four episodes will air Sunday, June 20th. Usually, these miniseries are considerations for future scripted programming if they do well enough (see: Battlestar Galactica). SyFy currently only has 5 original scripted shows on its lineup (Caprica, Eureka, Sanctuary, Stargate Universe and Warehouse 13) so it’s definitely possible that they’re looking into picking up more original shows (like every other cable network).

And if you want to check out a trailer…

Sneak peak at Smallville finale

The anticipated CW finale airs on May 14th, and as you can see here Clark is in an epic battle with this season’s baddie, Zod. Considering that Smallville got picked up for a 10th season (which will tie it for longest sci-fi show ever), I’m thinking the big guy comes out on top.
