Reactions on NBC’s upfronts

Here are a collection of reactions to NBC’s upfront trailers:

The Playboy Club:

@thefutoncritic “The Playboy Club” trailer goes over well; looks very slick, expensive.
@awallenstein ThePlayboyClub is the first pilot previewed–think MadMen lite #upfronts
@TVMoJoe Dear NBC: the 80s called. It wants its laugh track back. #whitney
@thefutoncritic “Whitney” – yeah, let’s just pretend that didn’t happen
Prime Suspect:
@televisionary Prime Suspect: Nothing against Bello, but to me the show was Helen Mirren’s Jane & largely serialized plots, not episodic ones each week.
@thefutoncritic “Prime Suspect” – uneven trailer, lots of broad comedy beats for some reason.
@awallenstein I’m predicting Maria Bello’s Emmy nominations already–she seems that good in the Prime Suspect preview clip #upfronts
@televisionary Grimm: extended trailer does not assuage my fears from reading pilot script. Sweet Dreams are not made of this…
@thefutoncritic “Grimm” likewise plays weird, CGI kind of wonky, as is creepy take on “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics for theme
@thefutoncritic Chills from “Awake” trailer already…
@franklinavenue NBC upfront: AWAKE looks fantastic. Another strong dual life/dual world concept from Kyle Killen.
@scottcollinsLAT It appears that, mirabile dictu, Katharine McPhee can act. #smash
