Medium effectively canceled, Ride-Along gets a name change, and Off The Map gets more scripts

Hectic day.

First, CBS drama Medium‘s order has been cut from 22 episodes to just 13. While the series wasn’t expected to make it back for an 8th season, it’s still surprising that it would be cut this late into the fall season. Not to mention the lucrative syndication deal that CBS gets per episode from Lifetime. Hopefully the writers have enough time to end the series in a way that they want to.

In other news, Shawn Ryan-produced Fox drama Ride-Along has changed its name to The Chicago Code. Fox and Ryan are most likely wary of the series’ name after the confusion surrounding Ryan’s latest FX series, Terriers.

Finally, Shonda Rhimes-produced ABC medical drama Off the Map has received five more script orders, bringing the total up to six additional script orders beyond the initial 13-episode order. Not bad.

The renewal/cancellation guide has been updated.
